Charging habits

How often do I need to charge?

There is no single rule. The right cadence depends on your weekly driving distance, battery size, climate, and whether you have reliable home charging.

Daily top-ups vs fewer deep charges

Many drivers prefer smaller, regular top-ups at home because it is convenient and keeps range anxiety low. Others charge less often but for longer sessions. Both can work if your battery stays within healthy operating ranges.

Example: a commuter may plug in most nights for short top-ups, while a weekend driver might only charge once or twice each week.

Build a schedule around your routine

  • Estimate weekly kilometres and convert that into approximate kWh usage.
  • Use off-peak windows where available to reduce charging costs.
  • Plan an extra buffer before long trips or high-speed highway driving days.
  • Adjust seasonally, since colder weather can increase energy use.

Example: if you drive roughly 300 km per week, set two or three scheduled sessions that reliably replace that energy before your next commute.

Aim for consistency, not perfection

A reliable charging habit is more important than chasing exact percentages every day. Pick a strategy that fits your life and automate it with your charger schedule where possible.

Example: choose one repeat schedule for weekdays and another for weekends, then review quarterly as your travel pattern changes.
